Privacy and Cookies

My name is Randall Hardy and this is my personal website, which I use to publish Christian information that I hope will be of help and interest to others. This also applies to the sub-domains associated with the site.

Personal information

I respect the privacy of individuals including their personal data. Personal data means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a first and last name, a home or other physical address, one or more telephone numbers and an email address or other contact information.

I only collect email addresses of individuals who request my Amen Alerts when I add new material to my website. The information requesting me to do so is supplied to me by email. I do not store any email addresses provided in this way on a web-based server; I will not share such email addresses with others for any reason; and unless someone has provided me with their email address in another context, I will not use it to contact them for any other reason than alerting them to new material being published on this website.

When someone contacts me for any other reason, I will only use the email address they provide to reply to them about the matter concerned and for any subsequent discussions.

Website

This is an old-fashioned, simple website which does not use cookies for any reason whatsoever. You may find that a refreshing change.

Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to a user’s device when they visit most websites, but not this one!

Third-party cookies

There is a small amount of material embedded on this website which is hosted on a third-party site, for example YouTube videos. If a user accesses these resources, the third-party providing the hosting service for the embedded content on this website may place cookies on a user’s device to enable the functionality of their services and for their own purposes. I do not control how these third parties use cookies, so my website users should refer to the particular third party's own privacy policy.

For example: YouTube is a Google company and this is where to find Google's Privacy Policy.

To find out more about cookies, including how to see which cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org which offers guidance for all modern browsers.

Visitors' IP addresses

In common with all websites, a record of visits to my website is logged, by my domain host. The information collected includes the IP address, the date and time of connection and the page or file selected. Whilst I have legitimate interests to refer to this information to understand the number and nature of visits to my website, I very rarely do so. The main reason I do not use them regularly is that the logs are in the form of simple text files, and extracting the data from them is laborious.

Data Subject Rights

Under data protection law, a person has rights in relation to their personal data. Full information about these rights can be found on the website of the Information Commissioner’s Office.
